I'm ashamed to say that I don't yet have a garden pond (although plans are underway). Even so, we have a very healthy population of both Common Frogs and Common Toads.

I think tonight I have worked out why 'one' Toad always looks clean, whilst the others look grubby, he's found himself a bath!

Extra brownie points if you can ID the rusting car-part .

I've just spent a very enjoyable hour in the garden, watching the toads (first wet night for ages, so many about).

This one must have been watching too many American TV shows through the window, as when I pointed the camera at her, she 'assumed the position' !

Nice pics Steve!

Caption for the last one in squeaky voice ,"Nooo Steve! Don't brick me in!" . Or Maybe he's a Roger Waters/Pink Floyd fan, "Tear down the wall, tear down the wall".

Or Last one.... There's happens to be another toad behind him with a gun, "Ok ok , take my wallet and cellphone, just please don't shoot!"

Eeeer, can't resist, "It's a fair cop guv' you caught me fair and square "

We also have a good population of Common Toads, also since sticking in a Wildlife pond earlier in the Year the Frogs have started to arrive.

Here's one from last year.

Steve, as someone who's never driven a car in his life i'll say exhaust pipe.

If not, steering wheel? car stereo?

ROFL, its so long ago I'm not sure I can remember...I think it was a front prop-shaft from a 4WD Sierra.

Can't remember if I posted this pic or not, but we have a toad that now 'lives' in our Apple tree. He hides in ivy during the day, and stalks the same few branches each night. All about 8 feet above ground.
